Hi,
I’m Vita Taormina, I own and manage Hogback Hill Farm. I have over 20 years experience with horses and about 10 years experience teaching beginners through intermediate Hunter/Jumpers and lower level Dressage. Now I’m exploring the world of Eventing. I earned my degree in Equine Studies from Stockbridge College at UMass Amherst.
I’ve worked at some of the best barns in Massachusetts including Black Oak where well known Olympian Michael Plumb trained his horses, Back Bay Farm, Grazing Fields Farm and more. I’ve also managed a 35 stall facility in Holliston, MA and taught over 50 students including coaching the Framingham State College IHSA Team. I have worked with a number ex-race horses but I enjoy horses of all breeds (especially Appaloosas!).
My philosophy on horse care is centered around what is best for the horse and safety. I believe in consistent high quality care that encompasses everything from the quality of bedding, hay and feed to thoroughly checking horses over whenever I am in the barn or bringing them in from turnout. I encourage everyone at my farm to practice good horsemanship and safety standards. Students learn how to properly care for a horse in addition to learning to ride.
Come and experience the peaceful atmosphere at HHF!!! You and your horse will love it here!
